Derrick Lewis Sets UFC Knockout Record with 35-Second Destruction in Nashville

Derrick Lewis just reminded the entire heavyweight division why he’s the scariest dude on the roster. UFC Nashville, first round, 35 seconds – that’s all it took for him to flatline Tallison Teixeira. A quick touch of gloves, a few setups, and boom. Teixeira folded like a cheap lawn chair. That knockout wasn’t just another W – it was Lewis’s 16th career knockout in the UFC, which officially sets the record for most knockouts in promotional history. Sixteen. Absolutely insane.

If you’re wondering whether “The Black Beast” is slowing down at 39, that question just got answered. The man has fists like cinder blocks and a right hand that erases consciousness. You could hear the crowd erupt as Teixeira hit the mat. Heavyweights are built different, but Derrick Lewis is built on a whole other level.

And because this is Derrick Lewis, of course the post-fight moment delivered. After his win, UFC CEO Dana White handed him his phone in the Octagon, and Lewis took a call from former President Donald Trump right then and there. Only Derrick Lewis could pull off ending a fight in under a minute and immediately chopping it up with a president like it’s just another Tuesday.

There was a little noise about the stoppage being early, but realistically, Teixeira was done. The ref saved him from a few extra shots that wouldn’t have changed the outcome. Lewis’s knockout power isn’t up for debate at this point – it’s historic. Literally.

Derrick Lewis. Sixteen UFC knockouts. Record holder. Still hilarious, still humble, still terrifying. If you’re a heavyweight on the roster right now, good luck sleeping tonight.
