First shoulder operated on. Unfortunately, there was too much work to do with one, so they couldn't fix both at once. Another surgery soon. I'll have to wait a little longer to come back.

Jan Błachowicz, the UFC fighter, has announced a setback in his return to the octagon. Recently, he took to his social media to provide an update on his health, revealing that his comeback will be delayed. This announcement comes two weeks after he withdrew from a scheduled rematch with Aleksandar Rakic, slated for UFC 297 on January 20.
In his social media update, Błachowicz mentioned, “First shoulder operated on. Unfortunately, there was too much work to do with one, so they couldn’t fix both at once. Another surgery soon. I’ll have to wait a little longer to come back.” He expressed the need for additional time before his return to fighting, just a couple of months away from his 41st birthday. As of now, the timeline for his next fight remains uncertain.
Błachowicz’s most recent appearance in the octagon was at UFC 291 in July, where he narrowly lost to the eventual champion, Alex Poatan Pereira. Prior to that, in a bout at UFC 282 for the vacant belt, he fought Magomed Ankalaev to a split draw, coming incredibly close to reclaiming his championship. The fighting community extends well wishes for Jan’s swift recovery, eagerly awaiting his return to the sport.
