From the Ring to ICE Custody — Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Busted On Mexican Warrant

Welp. Looks like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. just took the biggest L of his life – and it wasn’t even in the ring.

Dude got scooped up by ICE agents in Studio City on July 2. Yup, ICE. Homeland Security’s goon squad rolled up and clapped the cuffs on him like he was some random cartel underling smuggling bricks in a Walmart semi. Turns out he’s got an active warrant back in Mexico for organized crime, trafficking guns, ammo, explosives… basically every GTA side mission rolled into one.

Remember, this is the same guy who fought Jake Paul not too long ago. Went from making millions to being processed for expedited removal back to Mexico. Deportation. One-way ticket. He came into the U.S. on a tourist visa back in 2023 to do some fights and vibe out in LA. But his visa expired in Feb 2024. Since then, it’s been a straight clown show.

What really cooked him? That green card app he filed in April 2024. He tried to get Lawful Permanent Resident status through his U.S. citizen wife. Problem is, she’s allegedly tied up with the Sinaloa Cartel too – was apparently with El Chapo’s dead son before Chavez Jr. Bro thought he could just submit the paperwork, check the married box, and call it a day. DHS was like nah, chief. In December they flagged him as a public safety threat. But the Biden admin still let him slide back in at San Ysidro in January.

Then, last week, June 27, ICE was done playing games. Fraudulent statements all over his immigration docs. Boom. Determined removable. Five days later – arrested in Studio City, no gloves, no ropes, just cold steel.

What a downfall. Guy went from the son of a Mexican boxing legend, championship paydays, crazy celebrity status… to getting deported for alleged ties to cartel gun running.

At this point, his boxing career’s deader than his shot against Jake Paul. He’s about to be fighting for commissary snacks in a Mexican prison instead of pay-per-view belts.

Life comes at you fast. Especially when you’re playing cartel games in your dad’s shadow.
