Mike Malottβs knee sent Joaquin Buckleyβs mouthpiece flying at UFC Edmonton on Saturday. Buckley down. Main event over at 2:32 of Round 2. A hell of a statement from the Canadian.
One of the worst kos Iβve ever seen https://t.co/m4QjZsrG8m

Buckley brought the early pressure. Malott stayed patient, found the opening, and delivered the finish. Exactly the kind of performance that deserves a bigger fight.
Then came Buckleyβs replay review.
Followed by a much less technical assessment: βThat motherf*cker slept my ass.β Credit for owning it. No excuses. Just disbelief at how badly the night ended.
Joaquin Buckley was in disbelief watching Mike Malott knock him out cold ππ
βThatβs gotta be Ai. He put me out like that? That motherf*cker slept my ass.β https://t.co/20awAcf4iu

Three straight losses for Buckley. Five straight wins for Malott. A rough stretch for one, serious momentum for the other.
Even Dana White squeezed in a joke about cutting Buckley after their awkward pre-fight handshake snub. A jokeβnot an actual release announcement.
Dana White on Joaquin Buckley refusing to shake his hand:
βAs soon as he lost, I told Hunter to cut him
β¦Iβm f*cking jokingβ π https://t.co/XPSfJ7KcMz

Malott left with the win. Buckley left questioning the footage. Hard to write a better review of a knockout than the guy on the receiving end.
