Star running back Josh Jacobs is now facing multiple charges connected to a domestic abuse investigation in Wisconsin, and suddenly one of the Packers’ biggest strengths heading into next season comes with a massive question mark attached.

According to the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department, Jacobs was booked into Brown County Jail on May 26 following an investigation into an alleged incident that took place on May 23. The reported charges include felony strangulation and suffocation along with misdemeanor battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and intimidation of a victim.
At this point, the case remains active and ongoing.
Jacobs’ attorneys quickly denied the allegations and asked the public to avoid rushing to conclusions before more evidence and details are released. The Packers and the NFL also acknowledged the situation but did not provide additional comment.
From a football standpoint, this is a huge development for Green Bay.
Jacobs rushed for 1,211 yards last season and played a major role in the Packers offense. He gave the team consistency in the run game and helped take pressure off the passing attack. Now the organization faces uncertainty both on and off the field while the legal process plays out.
