Tyson Fury has officially withdrawn from the highly anticipated heavyweight title unification bout against Ukraine’s Oleksandr Usyk, scheduled for February 17. Fury took to social media to confirm the unfortunate news, revealing that he sustained an injury during a recent sparring session.

The setback occurred as Fury participated in a sparring session, where he reportedly suffered a cut on his right eye. The nature and severity of the injury have not been disclosed in detail, but it was deemed significant enough for the heavyweight champion to make the difficult decision to pull out of the upcoming clash.

Fury expressed his disappointment in having to withdraw from the fight, stating, “Cant help getting injured in sparring
but what i can say was Usyk was in trouble i am in fantastic shape. i will resheduel soon as i can. 2024 a massive year for team GK #undisputed #wbcking”
