During Thursday night’s matchup between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers, Kevin Durant had one of the most authentic moments of the night — and it had nothing to do with a stat line.
KD couldn't stop smiling when he recognized his friend from freshman year at Texas 😂

Durant spotted Shabana, a friend from his freshman year, sitting courtside wearing an orange shirt printed with an old photo of the two of them flashing the “Hook ’Em” sign from their Texas days. The second Durant saw it, he lit up. He walked over, hugged her, and the two shared a quick, warm exchange that clearly meant something to both of them.
It was a simple, human moment in the middle of a high-pressure NBA environment — a reminder that even superstar players have real relationships and real history outside the spotlight.
For Rockets fans, it added a refreshing, personal touch to the night. For Durant, it was an unexpected reunion that showed a genuine side of him the public doesn’t always get to see.
