David Benavidez delivered a commanding performance against David Morrell Jr., securing a unanimous decision victory in a high-stakes light heavyweight showdown.

From the opening bell, Benavidez controlled the pace, applying relentless pressure and landing heavy power shots that gradually broke Morrell down. While Morrell had moments of success, he struggled to maintain consistency as Benavidez’s relentless assault took its toll. Morrell’s body language showed the damage, as he became more hesitant to engage in exchanges.

One notable moment came in the eleventh round when Benavidez slipped, leading some to believe it was a knockdown. However, replays confirmed there was no clean punch that caused the fall—it was simply a slip. The fight continued without controversy, as Benavidez remained in complete control.

The judges’ scorecards read 115-111, 115-111, and 118-108, all in favor of Benavidez, a reflection of his dominance throughout the bout. With this victory, Benavidez remains undefeated and further cements his place as a top contender in the division.

Looking ahead, this win sets up the possibility of a major showdown with the winner of the highly anticipated rematch between Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol for the undisputed light heavyweight championship.

In the co-main event, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz put on a relentless display of aggression against Angel Fierro, in a bout that saw over 1,400 punches exchanged. Cruz’s pressure and power shots earned him a clear unanimous decision victory, and the fight is already being considered as a potential ‘Fight of the Year’ contender.

Overall, tonight’s event showcased the best of the sport, with Benavidez proving once again why he is one of the most dangerous fighters in boxing today.
