Charlotte Hornets star LaMelo Ball was involved in a minor crash Wednesday afternoon in uptown Charlotte.

According to The Charlotte Observer, the collision happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Trade and Tryon streets. A league source told the Observer that Ball was not injured. Emergency responders with MEDIC treated one person for non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses told the Observer that two vehicles were damaged in the crash. A manager at a nearby restaurant said employees saw Ball’s camo Hummer collide with a silver sedan in the middle of the intersection, and that a wheel detached from the vehicle. Video from WSOC-TV showed Ball exiting his vehicle and getting into another car following the incident.

Charlotte police have not released additional information at this time, and the Hornets declined to comment.

With the NBA’s All-Star break underway, Ball is already away from game action. The primary takeaway remains straightforward: he was not injured. Further details, including any potential citations or findings, would come from local authorities.
